Shredding Request

Request Shredding Services

Please read the service requirements and instructions below in order to submit your request for Shredding Services. Ensure that all requirements are met prior to the pickup of excess property by a Logistic Support Service employee.

Shredding Service Requirements

  • There must be less than 10 boxes per request. Please contact Building Services if you exceed 10 boxes.
  • Boxes must be no larger than 18in x 11.5in x 9.5in.
  • All boxes must be complete closed and sealed with tape.

Steps to Complete Service Request

  • Effective July 1st the Shredding operation will be funded and departments will no longer be billed. Please submit your pickup request through the Storehouse system under "My Account" >> "Returns/Pickups"

Service Information

What Qualifies for Shredding: Any Paper based document or product. Staples do not need to be removed from documents prior to the shredding process.

For the destruction of other items such as floppy disk, computer storage drives, servers, or any other item requiring destruction please contact Judy Hodge at 2-3094 or at judy.hodge@ucr.edu.

Pickup: This service includes complementary pickup of boxes of documents directly from the campus laboratories and offices by a Logistic Support Services employee.

Service Turnaround: The boxes will typically be picked up within 1 week of the initial service request. They will be stored at a secure location until they are destroyed by an external shredding vendor. The physical shredding process takes place approximately once per month.
