University departments

Department Sales

Mon-Fri  · 8 am-4 pm (closed for lunch 12-1)

*We highly recommend scheduling a time before coming*

All items are available to university department buyers at pennies on the dollar, five days a week.

  • Only department members with a COA are permitted to view and purchase items prior to public sales
  • Contact us to schedule a viewing of items in our inventory
  • Employees (and their near relatives) may not purchase surplus items originating from their own departments
  • Contact us for information regarding the delivery of your purchased items (subject to ScotSurplus's discretion)

Open to everyone

Public Sales
  • All sales are final, and items are sold "as is, where is"
  • Sale items are subject to prior purchase by campus departments and may not be available on sales day
  • All items purchased on sale day by the public must be picked up within five business days, or the item will be considered abandoned and available for purchase at the next sale

Rates effective June 1, 2026. Computers/e-waste are excluded from the revenue share structure. Vehicle sales return 85% to the department.

Schedule a pickup

Standard Pickup

We're happy to pick up items from your department if the following conditions are met:

  • No more than five items
  • Individual items must weigh less than 50 pounds
  • Individual items must not require more than one person to carry
  • No hazardous materials, chemicals or items leaking fluid

To schedule a standard pickup, submit a request with the location and details of the items, and our team will take it from there.

SUBMIT REQUEST

Non-standard pickup

You will need to submit a work order if your items meet the following conditions:

  • More than five items
  • Individual items weigh more than 50 pounds
  • Individual items require more than one person to carry
  • Items require disassembly

To schedule a non-standard pickup, submit a Work Order through Facilities Services, including the location and details of the items, and they will deliver them to us.

DROP-OFF

Departments are also encouraged to drop off surplus items at our warehouse during regular business hours (weekdays, 8 am–4 pm). We request that you notify us before dropping off items, and do not leave items unattended outside the ScotSurplus Warehouse.

COORDINATE A DROP-OFF

  • Note: If your item(s) have a property number, your department must submit an Equipment Inventory Modification Request (EIMR) before we can sell them. For more information, see the Accounting website.
